MusicPro Insurance is committed to providing convenient, affordable insurance to meet the needs of working music professionals. Our Classical Instrument & Equipment policy covers your musical instruments and gear, as well as computer hardware and software. (If you are not a classical musician, please apply for our Standard Instrument & Equipment policy.)
Coverage starts at $100 per year. The policy has a $100 minimum. This includes up to $5,000 in computer coverage (EDP). Additional computer coverage can be added for a small additional premium.
Be advised that if you have had several claims with us, we reserve the right to increase your rate.
Coverage includes:*
- Worldwide coverage for the instruments and equipment on your list for up to (but no more than) the replacement value
- $5,000 in computer hardware and software, additional coverage can be added
- $5,000 for valuable papers included for no additional premium
- Loss of income up to $1,000
- $25,000 for newly acquired property (up to 30 days)
- $25,000 for borrowed property (up to 30 days). Claim must be reported within 48 hours
- $2,500 per day up to $25,000 for rented reimbursement when equipment is rented to substitute equipment involved in a coverage loss (lost or repair)
- Replacement property is covered up to the value of the property being repaired
- If you have been paid for lost, stolen or misplaced property and the property is recovered by the carrier, you have the option to return the claim payment and repurchase the property.
- Full coverage for earthquake damage in California
- $100 deductible per loss (not per item)

Important policy details:
- Appraisal or receipt is required for any single item over $25,000.
- Policy Renewal occurs every June 20 of every year. Prorating will be applied.
- Coverage is not bound until payment has been received and processed.

Classical Instrument & Equipment Policy Frequently Asked Questions
Worldwide. This means that you will have coverage at your home, studio, while in transit to your "gig" and at the performance venue.
The policy is referred to as an "All Risk" policy. This means that unintentional damage caused by anything that is not specifically excluded will be covered. So, fire, lightning, theft, vandalism, damage caused by vehicles or aircraft, windstorm, and accidental breakage are all covered perils. Earthquake damage is even covered in California.

I packed up after a performance and found items missing some time later? Yes.
I went to the venue and contractors erecting scaffolding damaged my equipment? Yes.
A hurricane like Hurricane Katrina destroys my house and all of my equipment? Yes.
The policy has a deductible of $100.00. This would be applied to each claim, not to each scheduled item.
You will be paid the actual cash value, if the equipment is not replaced. Your instruments will be valued at replacement cost, if replaced. Replacement items are to be substantially identical to what was stolen or damaged. If an item is no longer being made, a similar item that performs the same functions will be allowed.
This policy is underwritten by Fireman's Fund McGee Marine Underwriters, a division of Fireman's Fund, rated A++ by A.M. Best Company. Admitted in all states.
